well, judging by the other review, I hesitated. glad I went ahead to buy while I could. beautiful gun (grips alone almost worth the price), but, more importantly, shoots as well as it looks. big but perfectly balanced. very smooth double action pull (I polished the slide plate slightly, cleaned with WD-40 detergent, and followed with Ballistol). this only looks old: it has a shrouded SS barrel and frame-mounted yoke detent (like the 69). if you handle big guns, this is the ticket. by the bye,

Poor quality. Received the firearm and the cylinder stop notch was machined extremely subpar, looked as if someone had SLAMMED the cylinder shut will it was spinning at a ridiculous rate. Returned the revolver to S&W the next day. Weeks later I have yet to receive the firearm back. I cannot speak for S&W Customer service yet because the firearm is still at S&W hopefully getting a new cylinder. Also the front notch where the front sight sits had metals burrs sticking out of the edges. Pretty poor quality control, sadly I wasted the money. S&W is now just riding their name instead of pushing out quality items. Deserves 0 stars but the lowest I can rate is 1.
