I bought this hi point JCP .40 because I already have the .40 carbine and the mags are interchangeable. Also it was a deal at $160 Why only 4 stars is because it would not stomach steel cased ammo at all it runs like a sewing machine on brass. My carbine on the other hand will eat anything. I’ll keep it on a brass diet and I shouldn’t have any trouble at all lifetime warranty and 100% American made! Sold!! Chris from Tennessee
No im not using it to carry but man these Hi-points are fun to shoot. This is my 2nd and i plan to buy .380 and 9mm and complete the pistol collection and in the future getting the 10mm carbine.
I purchased the Hi Point JCP40 as a cheap firearm to add to my collection. After reading reviews and watching youtube videos, I felt like maybe it was a mistake. When it came in, I field stripped and cleaned it. Took it to the range. WOW! Ran 250 rds. thru it without a single FTF or FTE. I am so satisfied with this firearm. KYGUNco are awesome people to deal with. $150.00 delivered with a lifetime warranty. People say, yeah, your going to need the warranty. Haha, the joke is on the haters. This gun kicks butt!!!!! Ill never hate on HI Point again!
I bought my .40cal from the pawn shop paying 185.00, shooting it was great and very accurate how ever it jammed a lot after dissembling it to clean it I found a bent firing pin and the barrel had a split across the rifling ,after packing it up and taking it to ups to ship in for repairs the cost was 85.00for over night air .now I got two much invested in a piece of junk ,I dont recommend anyone buying this gun
I bought this hand gun 5 years ago and so far it does the job.little heavy but with 40 S&W rounds need to be.no problem putting rounds in center at 20 yards.I carry it hunting and have taken deer with hollow points in mag.Only fault is that Im left handed and they dont offer it for lefties.
I was looking at the website and saw a .45 pistol for under 150.my first thought was it must be a misprint. My second was whats wrong with itDid some research and dedecided to buy. Picked it up today and went to the range. Took a S&W 9 mil. along that I had yet to try. Put 100 rounds of the cheapest I could get though the it. Had two mis feeds but think it was due to the ammo. Used the ghost sights and loved em. Able to get on target faster with less focus. Popped one after the other as soon as I got a sight picture,10 rounds in a few seconds at 21 feet with a grouping about the size of a baseball. Not that much heavier than the 9 mil. Didnt notice it at all while shooting. Even had less recoil and better grouping than the 9 mil. Good feel in the grip. Only complaints: the safety. Need to pay attention or its possible to not engage it. Grip is a little large for small hands such as my wifes. Not something that will be as easy to carry for concealed. You prefer funtion, dependable over pretty You will love this pistol, I know I do.
I was skeptical at first not many people had good things to say about them yes it is a heavy gun and hard to conceal but after putting 50 rounds threw it my mind was changed its deadly accurate and feeds and spits them out as you would want ur gun to the heavy slide cuts back on recoil which I enjoy overall id buy another one someday
I cleaned up this gun and took it to the range. I had a couple of FTFs but there is a break-in period about 150-200 rounds and it was smooth after that. The sights are adjustable and are easily seen against a background. Its not the most refined gun but Ive had other HiPoints and they loosen up over time. The recoil is a little tougher than other 40s but its still a fun gun to shoot.
After I purchased my HI-POINT model JCP in .40 SW caliber I was not sure I had done the right thing. I got to the range and was convinced I had in fact done the right thing. First shot hit exactly where I aimed. Just for grins I was shooting at the concealed carry target. 20 out of 20 in the 5 zone and 18 in the instant kill areas. Five in the forehead and 15 in the heart region. This pistol is worth every dollar and then some. I had a Glock 23 in .40 SW and was not that impressed with it. This is the best bargain by far. The sales staff is second to none, fast and friendly. My next firearm purchase will be made here as well. Thanks Keene!
