The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources Hunter Education regulation requires anyone born on or after January 1, 1975 and age 12 or older to have a hunter education course completion card in their possession while hunting, as well as the appropriate Kentucky hunting license. STUDENT COURSE: This training course includes study in Hunter Ethics, Wildlife Conservation and Identification, Field Care of Game, First Aid, Firearm Safety, Archery and Muzzleloading. CMP M1 Garand and High Power Rifle Clinic

When: October 14th and 15th Time: 9 am to 4 pm on the 14th and 1 pm till 5 pm on the 15th Cost: $10 per person. What is covered the first day: Safety first and always, a little bit of history on the CMP and the guns. Then all the U.S WWI and WWII rifles including but not limited to M1 Garand, 1903, 1903A3,1917, M1 carbine, and some foreign old war rifles. We will move into the CMP matches both the games and service rifle along with the national matches. Position shooting, equipment need for the match and where to shoot and have some fun. We will be doing hands on non-firing training the first day so when we get to the range the second day you will be ready to go. We will also cover field stripping and M1 maintenance and how to buy through the CMP. Finally where to shoot in our area and the CMP travel games. Day 2 will be the live match firing at the indoor range with .22 rifles. You may bring your own or we have some to loan. Please bring 1 box of 50 rounds of standard velocity .22’s.
