Ruger® AR-556®

  • Ruger® Rapid Deploy folding rear sight provides windage adjustability, and pairs with the elevation adjustable front sight for a solid, reliable aiming system. The rear sight can be folded out of the way to make room for optics, but can be instantly redeployed if needed.

  • Six-position telescoping M4-style buttstock and Mil-Spec buffer tube allow the rifle to be properly sized for different shooters, or varying levels of outerwear or defensive gear.

  • Made from aerospace-grade 7075-T6 aluminum forging, the flattop upper receiver includes a forward assist, dust cover and brass deflector, and is Type III hard coat anodized for maximum durability.

  • Bolt is machined from 9310 alloy steel and is shot peened and pressure (proof) tested to ensure strength, structural integrity and durability.

  • Front sight post is elevation adjustable, and a front sight tool is included. The A2-style F-height allows co-witness with many optics.

  • Patent pending Barrel Nut and Delta Ring are designed for one person handguard removal and installation. The design accepts most standard carbine length handguards. The barrel nut uses a standard wrench and can be swapped with a Mil-Spec barrel nut if desired.

  • Milled gas block is located at a carbine-length (M4) position for improved balance and handling. Multiple attachment points include a QD socket and bayonet lug, for many sling and accessory mounting options. Serrations on the angled face of the gas block provide a low-glare surface.

  • Medium contour cold hammer-forged barrel with ultra-precise rifling provides exceptional accuracy, longevity and easy cleaning. The 1:8" twist rate stabilizes bullets from 35 to 77 grains, and the 5.56 NATO chamber allows the use of both 5.56 NATO and .223 Rem. Ammunition. M4 feed ramps provide improved operational reliability, and the matte black oxide finish reduces glare and provides corrosion resistance. A Ruger® flash suppressor is provided, and the 1/2"-28 threaded barrel allows for standard muzzle accessories to be installed.

  • Ergonomic pistol grip features an extended trigger reach for more precise trigger control.

  • Chrome-plated bolt carrier inside diameter and chrome-plated gas key inside diameter provide exceptional resistance to hot gases. The gas key is staked so that it will not loosen after extensive firing. A matte black oxide finish on the exterior of the bolt carrier provides corrosion resistance.

  • Single-stage trigger provides durable and reliable fire control. The enlarged trigger guard is designed to allow gloved shooting.

  • Handguards are made from heat-resistant glass-filled nylon for shooting comfort and durability.

  • Also includes: One, 30-round Magpul® PMAG®.

      Fantastic Value

      STEVE - Oak Ridge, TENNESSEE
" I have had the used the Colt LE6920 and I have to say I prefer the Ruger AR-115 and its half the price of the Colt. The Ar-556 is a quality weapon made in America and selling for a almost give away price. I have added a number of after market items and never had a problem fitting them on the Ruger. Highly recommended. "

      JOHN - up north, MIDWEST
" what are you waiting for, ruger 556 excellent for the money and above actually, holds its own against my bushmaster HBR that cost almost double, I love these so much I bought the kids o.k. they are adults, so dont go liberal on me : each one! kygunco. service A+ and smokin delivery. A+ all the way around...again, what are you waiting for "

      THAD - Adairsville, GEORGIA
" I bought this gun two weeks ago and couldnt wait to get it on the range. I did this past weekend and Im upset with myself for waiting 2 weeks to shoot. It performed well beyond my wildest dreams. For the money its a steal! "

      Very Satisfied

      MIKE - Boynton Beach, FLORIDA
" Not only am I very happy with my Rugger 556 after a lot of research for my entry level AR, but I am also very happy with the price and delivery time of my rifle. Thumbs up to KY gunco. It was between the Rugger or the MP sport 2. At the end of the day, the Delta ring, twist rate and thicker barrel and overall finish of the Rugger won. "

      AR 556

      PETE - bay area, CA
" KY Gun Co is very LEO friendly. They were one of the FEW willing to sell this gun to a LEO in Ca. Most other internet stores would only sell the Calif. compliant guns to LEO even though it is legal for them to sell a non compliant Calif gun. The AR556 has been flawless. not one FTF or FTE. very little adjustment was needed to zero. Can be upgraded if desired with any mil spec parts.. Was skeptical of Rugers delta ring but it was a breeze to change out the fore stock. This rifle is still hard to find but KY Gun Co has not gouged people by raising the price! Great gun in the price range, great company to deal with. Get one before Hillary bans all of them!! "

      DANNY - Hustonville , KY
      " "

      Great Value

      GARY - Edmond, OK
" Great price, great value and good service. Not much more you can ask for. This AR has many features found on more expensive ARs. First time out put 200 rounds down range with no issues. Only thing entry level is the price. "

      Best Ar 15 for price

      DAVID - Grand Rapids, MI
" This is my very first ar 15 and Ive shot 500+ rounds since I got it 2 weeks ago and has not failed me once. Great quality top to bottom and accurate right out of the box. It was so light the guy at the counter thought the gun wasnt actually in its case. The magpul mag works like any magpul mag should. I bought a different brand mag that had better ergonomics. At first it didnt seem to slide and lock into place like the magpul but after using it it started to fit a lot smoother. This really isnt the rifles problem, just a side note to stick to magpul furniture even if its a couple $s more. I did put a magpul handguard and have installed rails to install my flashlight on it and looks like a beast. By now youve probably looked into the m&p sport ii and other brands and if you havent you might want to do some research just because its good to know these things and its fun. They all have their little differences, but since I dont own any other ar 15 I can only say that if youre looking at getting an AR 15, get this one, because by the time you end up trying to buy 1 its going to be out of stock. These have been selling off at any local and online store Ive been looking at. I was lucky enough to order the very few left through Kentucky Gun Co. Just remember when you do buy this it will take almost a month to get just because of the processing and shipping. My only complaint which is a very small detail is to have had dual aperture on the rear flip up sight. It only has the marksman sight smallest aperture which I found out you should be using 90 of the time anyways. They work great for me, Ill end up buying a 3-4x acog for it but for now, its my new favorite gun to shoot out if my collection. Long story short, you cannot go wrong with this ar 556. My friends from the army and marine Corp approve of this and are thinking of buying themselves one as well. If you dont like it you can always sell it and something else but I highly doubt it. "

      Great Gun for the $$

      GARY - Edmond, OKLAHOMA
" Received my AR556 from Kentucky Gun last week and put 250 rounds through it on Saturday with no misfeeds, jams, etc. Gun functioned flawlessly. Had my nephew who is a gunsmith look it over and in his professional opinion he was impressed and wouldnt have thought it would have the quality that it does in a $600 gun. Pleased with the gun and with Kentucky Gun and will use them in the future. "

      Fast Shipping, First AR 15

      STEPHEN - Fort Smith, AR
" Ordered Tuesday night, got it that Friday! Awesome sporting rifle for under $600. "

      Excellent value for the price

      J - Milwaukee, WISCONSIN
" Have shot about 1,500 rounds of Tula steel case 55g FMJ through it now. This is 223 Rem ammo, not official 5.56. Have not had a single FTE or FTF using either magpul or D&H 20- and 30- round mags. I would say that the rifle is probably more accurate than what the sights that come with it are capable of. Its about 1.5-2.0 MOA at 100 yards, and maybe 3 MOA at 200. The front sight post is pretty thick making it tougher at 200. Not a gripe at all and an easy fix w better sights or optics. Ergonomics are as good as advertised. I think its a terrific buy. "

      Excellent rifle!

      JOHN - Cincinnati, OH
" I am extremely expressed with my new Ruger AR-556. I also own the Smith M&P 15 Sport, which I like a lot, but I think the Ruger is an even better rifle. It feels a little heftier heavier and does a better job at taming felt recoil. As a result, Ive been shooting more accurately with it. Also, it comes with a dust cover and forward assist. Mine wasnt sighted in from the factory, so I recommend that you start zeroing it at 25 yards. Overall, this is a phenomenal rifle at a great price. I was also very pleased with KYGUNCO, which shipped the rifle within a day of my placing the order. "

      Outstanding Value From Ruger

      DITTO - Kaukauna, WISCONSIN
" The AR-556 is an excellent entry level rifle from Ruger. Mine has functioned flawlessly. For under $600, you cant go wrong with this AR. Recommend it highly. "

      RICK - E-Town, KY
" Excellent AR. Well built. Good sights, pretty accurate after a minor adjustment. Grip was really comfortable. It accepted all kind of magazines and rounds. Not a single hiccup. I am a Rugers fan, but this was more than expected. The price was excellent for the quality of this gun. "

      Ruger AR556

      MICHAEL - Pineville, LOUISIANA
" I have owned many AR-15 type rifles and I can say without hesitation that the Ruger AR556 is a fantastic rifle that is very well fitted well finished and loaded with lots of features. 4.8 out of 5 stars. "

Best Value AR on the Market

      SEAN - Columbus, OHIO
" This rifle performed flawlessly after shooting several hundred rounds of various bullet weights, round types, etc. Not one single jam or mis-feed. Very accurate right out of the box with the flip up sights. Built like or better than some of the $1,000 guns on the market. You cannot go wrong with this Ruger! "
